The climate crisis requires comprehensive social change, particularly in the areas of energy and mobility, which must be made more sustainable and digital. This change will have an impact on the world of work, with some sectors becoming less important and others, such as renewable energies, growing. Working conditions and co-determination in these new sectors are still unclear. In Europe, progress in implementing climate and social plans varies, making a coordinated EU response both necessary and challenging.
The project aims to promote a deeper understanding of the links between labour and the climate crisis. Participants will learn to analyse and evaluate trends in emerging industries and to identify best practices for participation in transformation processes in other countries. They will also acquire the skills to critically evaluate political practices and develop their own strategies for ecological and digital transformation.
The project promotes social dialogue by strengthening the capacity of workers’ representatives to act, sharing experiences across borders and involving civil society. It also discusses transformative concepts such as democratisation and socialisation of critical infrastructure. The aim is to enable participants to actively participate in workers’ organisations and represent the interests of workers.
