This project aims to support trade unions in EU candidate countries by addressing challenges in social dialogue and collective bargaining. It provides a platform for trade union leaders and experts to learn from the experiences of EU member states on fostering social dialogue and strengthening social partnership. The project focuses on equipping participants with knowledge to overcome issues such as limited consultations, declining cooperation with governments, and insufficient involvement in monitoring EU accession policies. It also aims to enhance understanding of the European social model and its role in economic and social progress.
The program will include expert presentations on EU enlargement policies and the need for reforms in candidate countries. Trade union representatives from EU member states will share best practices in social dialogue and partnership. Representatives from candidate countries will present the state of social dialogue in their regions, followed by discussions and brainstorming sessions on improving collective bargaining and building trust for effective social partnership. The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion and a closing panel summarizing the outcomes.
The project contributes to the social dialogue by increasing the capacity of trade unions in candidate countries to influence public policies and improve the quality of employment. It fosters international cooperation, supports membership growth, and strengthens collective bargaining as a tool for achieving social justice and democratic progress in the EU accession process.
