The project addresses the values of the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) and their significance for sustainable development and the social well-being of workers and societies in Europe. It assesses the impact of the EPSR and its Action Plan on industrial relations and its role in creating decent work and a fair distribution of the wealth produced. It also discusses how workers' organisations can defend and promote the stability and security of these values to ensure social development, protection and human dignity.
Another aim of the project is to highlight the economic and social consequences of the EPSR, particularly for workers and disadvantaged groups, and to emphasise the active participation of workers and their organisations in this process. It is pointed out that, in view of the loss of purchasing power among workers and rising rents and interest rates in Europe, solutions must be found to reactivate the social dialogue. There is concern that the development of economic and political and financial institutions, which often disregard human values, devalue work and promote an unjust distribution of wealth. The aim is to identify ways in which the values of the EPSR can be implemented in a way that is positive for workers, companies and economically sustainable development.
