Mental health in the digital world of work

Sevilla / ES

With its campaign "Safe and healthy work in the digital age", the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) aims to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities that the ongoing digitalisation of the world of work poses for occupational safety and health. This is embedded in the EU Strategic Framework for Health and Safety at Work (2021-2027), whose main priorities include anticipating and managing change in the context of environmental, digital and demographic developments. With its seminar, C.E.A.T. aims to make a thematic contribution to the EU-OSHA campaign, which will be launched this spring and will run for three years until autumn 2025. C.E.A.T. also places the issue of workers' mental health in the context of the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic, which has led to a huge increase in stressors for workers such as financial insecurity, fear of unemployment, limited access to health-related services, stress associated with the use of new yet unknown technologies, changes in working hours, and the still inadequate organisation of work and telework.
