The project deals with the challenges and potentials of social dialogue and collective bargaining in multinational companies within the European Union. Due to differences in legislation, corporate culture, economic development and political framework conditions, there are considerable differences in the organisation of workers’ representation, wages and social protection. The aim is to analyse these differences and identify ways to improve industrial relations and harmonise social practices in multinational companies.
The project links this analysis with the European social policies in order to strengthen economic and political cooperation within the EU. The aim is to identify effective instruments at European, national and sectoral level to improve social dialogue.
Practices of multinational companies and their particularities will be analysed, supported by concrete examples and experiences. The aim is to identify best practices that promote social dialogue and coherence within companies. Clear social and economic rules through international agreements should create a link between good working conditions and productivity. Particular attention should be paid to human rights.
