Health and Safety at Work: Changes in the digital age

Milan / IT

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the “Safe and healthy work in the digital age 2023-2025” campaign of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) to address the challenges of safety and health in the digital age. The aim is to raise awareness that, in addition to technological aspects, people and their health and safety must be at the centre of digital work.

The specific objectives include:

  • Raising awareness among all stakeholders of the impact of digitalisation on safety and health at work.

  • Promoting cooperation between trade unions, employers and other stakeholders to develop a common understanding of the issues of digital transformation.

  • Exchanging good practices and knowledge to improve working conditions in the digital environment.

  • Stimulating reflection on the changes in the world of work.

The social dialogue plays a central role in developing strategies to address new health and safety challenges during the digital transformation. This requires a balance between the benefits of technological innovation and the protection of workers' well-being. Coordinated cooperation between all stakeholders – companies, workers’, legislators, technology developers, workers' organisations and educational institutions – is necessary to create innovative, safe and healthy working environments. This cooperation should be based on an open dialogue that promotes the exchange of knowledge while also identifying risks and developing solutions to reduce them.
