Enabling healthy workplaces in the age of digitalisation

Bilbao / ES

This seminar focuses on addressing the impact of digitalization on workplace health and safety. It aims to provide representatives of workers’ organisations with knowledge and strategies to manage the challenges and opportunities that digital transformation brings to well-being of workers. The seminar will emphasize the importance of balancing the benefits of digitalization, such as flexibility and health-promoting technologies, with challenges like increased stress, physical inactivity, and mental strain. This seminar aims to discuss these opportunities and risks within the context of social dialogue, closely aligned with the campaign “Safe and Healthy Work in the Digital Age.”

The seminar will provide a general overview of the campaign, highlighting the role and opportunities for EZA as a campaign partner and clarifying how member organizations can benefit. The programme also includes workshops on key issues including work on digital platforms, advanced robotics and artificial intelligence, teleworking, intelligent digital systems, and AI-driven workforce management. Using the "See-Judge-Act" method, participants will analyse topics, discuss their implications for workers and trade unions, and develop actionable recommendations.

The seminar aims to familiarize stakeholders with the content of the EU-OSHA campaign “Safe and Healthy Work in the Digital Age”, adapt it to specific cases, and incorporate it into social dialogue. In summary, the seminar will strengthen social dialogue by raising awareness and understanding of workplace health issues, improving communication between social partners, and ultimately contributing to a healthier and more productive work environment.
