Digitization and green transition – opportunities and challenges to achieve social justice

Zagreb / HR

The project aims to bring together representatives of labour organisations and experts in digital and green technologies from various EU and candidate countries to promote social equality and better working conditions. It is emphasised that EU states should follow the European Commission's guidelines on digital and green transformation. Digitalisation, automation and the use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence offer opportunities for new jobs, but can also bring challenges, such as the loss of professions and the need for constant further training, especially for older workers. Furthermore, the introduction of new technologies raises ethical questions. The project highlights that all stakeholders in the social dialogue will receive information on the policies promoted by the European Commission to ensure a fair green and digital transition. This should promote dialogue between the social partners and help to create better conditions for workers, as well as ensuring sustainable development and environmental protection.
