The project focuses on the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on the labour market, with an emphasis on the challenges and opportunities these technological advancements present for trade unions and workers. While the rapid pace of technological change can create uncertainties, it also offers potential for improvement if approached with foresight and planning. The discussion will centre on how unions and workers can adapt to and guide these changes while safeguarding core values and ensuring fairness.
The objectives include exploring the consequences of digitalization and artificial intelligence for the labour market, equipping trade union leaders with the skills to navigate these changes and developing strategies to maintain engagement with members in increasingly digital and remote work environments. By adapting their communication and organizational approaches, unions can better support workers in this evolving landscape.
The seminar will feature experts who will provide insights into current technological trends and their likely future impact on work. Participants will discuss the implications for workers, with a focus on preserving human-centric values in the workplace. Working groups will allow participants to address their concerns, share experiences, and explore the potential benefits of technological advancements, aiming to foster readiness and resilience in the face of change.
