“Stop the pandemic: safety and health at work can save lives” – that is the slogan of this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work in Geneva on 28 April co-ordinated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), which aims to raise awareness for the importance that safety and health at work have for combating the COVID-19 pandemic, for preventing and controlling the risk of infection, and for enabling a return to work.

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) in Bilbao has been drawing up publications on this issue since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The questions tackled range from measures to prevent a risk of infection at work right through to practical tips for telework from home, the latter focusing on preventing musculoskeletal disorders – a topic primarily being addressed with the next EU-OSHA campaign planned to start in autumn 2020.

EZA has been involved in the EU-OSHA campaigns as official campaign partner since 2016, and will continue its commitment to the issue of safety and health at work with its involvement in the new campaign.
