The project addresses the challenges faced by disabled people in European society, particularly in working life. These people often experience barriers, unequal treatment and limited career opportunities, as well as inadequate pay. The aim of the conference is to raise awareness of the concerns of disabled people and to promote the exchange of best practice. Trade unions should take action to ensure fair employment contracts and pay for this group. It is also emphasised that democratic participation is crucial to achieving equal treatment. Issues such as equal pay for equal work and inclusion must be negotiated in a spirit of social partnership. The social dialogue should take place at the European level and take into account both company-based and cross-company representation of the interests of disabled workers.
