We are pleased to welcome two new members to our network. Both new organizations are based in North Macedonia, thereby strengthening regional diversity and European cooperation.
The Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia (KSS) is an independent and democratically organized trade union confederation that advocates for the rights and interests of workers. It unites several industry-specific unions and represents its members in dealings with government institutions and employers. KSS is a representative trade union organization at the national level as well as in the public sector in North Macedonia. On this basis, it participates in the work of the Economic and Social Council and is a signatory to the General Collective Agreement for the public sector. A central focus of its work is on promoting social dialogue, improving working conditions, and strengthening workers’ rights. In addition, the KSS is actively involved in the development of labor market policies and advocates for fair wages and social security. Education and awareness-raising initiatives for employees are also part of its scope of activities. Through its work, the KSS makes an important contribution to the further development of a social and just working society.
The Union of Financial Institution Workers of Macedonia (SFOM) represents, in particular, the interests of employees in the financial sector in North Macedonia. As a sector-specific union, it specifically advocates for fair working conditions, adequate pay, and the protection of workers’ rights in banks and financial institutions. A particular focus is on promoting social dialogue within the sector and supporting its members in matters of labor law. Furthermore, SFOM is committed to providing training and information to employees to strengthen their professional development. The organization helps amplify the voice of workers in the financial sector and effectively represent their concerns. Through its specialized expertise, it adds an important perspective from a key economic sector to the EZA network. We look forward to the exchange and future collaboration.
