J'ai le privilège d'avoir suivi les activités de l'EZA et son développement au cours de ces 25 années.

Pendant toutes ces années, l'EZA a multiplié le nombre de ses membres, ceux-ci avec des cultures et des approches différentes, mais toutes étroitement liées à la politique sociale tant au niveau national qu'au niveau européen.

Le réseau européen que constitue aujourd'hui l'EZA permet, notamment à partir de séminaires organisés dans les différents pays de l'Union, d'étudier et d'approfondir la plupart des problèmes rencontrés dans le domaine de la politique sociale, tant du point de vue des problématiques nationales, voire régionales, que de la problématique sociale européenne.

Cela nous le devons au travail de l’équipe de l’EZA qui, au cours de ses 25 ans d’activité, a élargi son réseau, a multiplié les séminaires, a établi d’excellentes synthèses et a maintenu de bons contacts avec les membres du réseau EZA.

J’en remercie vivement l’équipe dirigeante de l’EZA.

Este cu adevarat un eveniment remarcabil sa aniversam acum impreuna 25 de ani de la infiintarea EZA, cand un grup de oameni entuziasti din tari ale Europei de Vest au dat viata acestei organizatii si au crezut in viitorul ei. Incet dar sigur EZA a crescut si a ajuns acum la maturitate confirmata de numarul mare de membri din tot spatiul European, dar mai ales prin realizarile obtinute in domeniul social. In toti acesti 25 de ani fiecare in tarile noastre am participat la evenimente cu adevarat istorice care au dus, in special dupa prabusirea sistemului comunist, la intarirea continua a relatiilor reciproce.

Am constatat ca desi am trait in tari diferite suntem legati prin valorile comune ale spatiului European si aceste legaturi aparent invizibile au contribuit din plin la extinderea organizatiei EZA prin acceptarea de membri din tari din estul Europei. Putem afirma ca prin modul democratic si nediscriminatoriu EZA, avand la baza acitvitatii valorile democratiei crestine si a economiei sociale, a fost pentru membrii din tarile foste comuniste o Uniune Europeana in miniatura, deoarece procesele de aderare ale acestora la EZA s-au realizat inaintea proceselor de aderare a tarilor lor la UE. Fundatia Nationala Coresi fiind un ONG infiintat de una dintre cele mai importante confederatii sindicale din Romania, respectiv C.N.S. CARTEL-ALFA, in anul 1999 impartasind principiile promovate de EZA a devenit membru cu drepturi depline EZA. Pentru noi acest fapt a reprezentat confirmarea potentialului organizatiei noastre la nivel national si international si ne-a permis ca impreuna cu EZA sa derulam o serie de proiecte de nivel European care au contribuit intr-un mod vizibil la marile procese de democratizare a Romaniei.

Tot impreuna cu EZA si ONG-uri din tara si straintate am infiintat in anul 2000 Asociatia Pentru Integrarea Romaniei In Uniunea Europeana A.I.R.U.E. Acest lucru ne-a permis sa ne aducem modesta contributie la aderarea Romaniei in marea familie a U.E. In concluzie, daca privim in urma putem spune cu satisfactie, si de ce nu cu mandrie, ca impreuna cu EZA. am contribuit la constientizarea rolului major al societatii civile in cadrul societatii romanesti. Aniversarea EZA are loc in momente in care lumea traverseaza o recesiune economica fara precedent si asistam la masuri de austeritate de o duritate extrema, cu implicatii dramatice in randul oamenilor obisnuiti. De aceea credem ca acum este momentul sa strangem randurile si impreuna sa aparam cu fermitate locurile de munca si dreptul la o viata decenta pentru noi si familiile a sute de milioane de oameni. In incheiere aducem omagiul nostru fondatorilor EZA si va adresam tuturor un calduros LA MULTI ANI !

It has been a great pleasure and privilege for Estonian Centre for Work-related Questions to participate in the activities of EZA network both during the phases of candidateship and now as a full member. During the candidateship period we became acquainted with the pluralistic approach in trade union movement and acquired several friendly contacts with other partner organisations from all across Europe in the form of various projects and seminars. During the membership period we have strengthened the co-operation having now already hosted several seminars and implemented a couple of projects.

In the coming years we look forward to continue the fruitful co-operation by addressing actual topics in the European society. Especially we would like to expand the focus to integrating EU policies and strategies (for example EU 2020) to seminars and projects and enhance the scope of the activities to new and emerging areas, bearing in mind the political and social challenges EU is facing. Last, but not least, we would like to congratulate EZA and wish all the best for the coming years!

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum 25. Geburtstag! Gerade die Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise zeigt, dass viele Probleme nicht mehr auf der Ebene der Nationalstaaten zu beherrschen sind. Deswegen ist es wichtig, dass wir arbeitsmarktpolitische und soziale Fragen auf europäischer Ebene diskutieren. Wir Deutsche können von Erfahrungen in Italien oder Spanien profitieren - und umgekehrt. Ohne EZA gäbe es diesen Dialog nicht! Deswegen wünsche ich EZA ein langes Leben, glückliche und zufriedene Kinder in ganz Europa und weiterhin viele Freunde, die auch längere Reisen auf sich nehmen, um bei der EZA-Familie zu Gast zu sein!

La grave crisi economica che sta caratterizzando l’inizio del terzo millennio e che sta investendo, seppur in forme e dimensioni diverse, tutti i paesi europei, sta costringendo i governi ad adottare rigide misure di contenimento della spesa pubblica. All’interno di tali manovre economiche, il settore che maggiormente subisce i tagli è quello della spesa sociale con le conseguenti gravi ripercussioni sul mondo del lavoro in termini occupazionali e di riduzione dei fondi destinati agli ammortizzatori sociali. Per superare la gravissima crisi, come già in passato, resta di grande attualità la promozione del dialogo sociale, quale strumento necessario per governare meglio, favorendo un maggior coinvolgimento di tutti gli attori nel processo decisionale ed in quello di attuazione. Ma ancora oggi, il contributo delle parti sociali europee non è ancora adeguatamente conosciuto e diffuso. La realizzazione degli obiettivi strategici definiti a Lisbona - raggiungere la piena occupazione e rafforzare la coesione sociale - dipende largamente dall'azione delle parti sociali. Esse sono infatti nella posizione più adatta a garantire una gestione positiva della crisi, operando per il raggiungimento di soluzioni che consentano di conciliare la flessibilità indispensabile alle imprese e la sicurezza necessaria ai lavoratori. Nei prossimi anni ancora molte saranno le sfide, vecchie e nuove, che tutti insieme ci troveremo a dover affrontare: occupazione, inclusione sociale, dialogo interculturale e religioso, nuove povertà, etc. Resta moltissimo da fare per rafforzare le capacità delle parti sociali negli Stati membri dell’UE e per coinvolgerle nel processo di adesione: nei seminari abbiamo spesso potuto constatare che i paesi candidati continuano a dar prova di relativa debolezza in materia di cooperazione sociale e di dialogo sociale autonomo. EZA, con la sua venticinquennale esperienza nel settore, è il soggetto ideale per colmare i vuoti formativi ed informativi e, pertanto, deve proseguire nella sua azione istituzionale con la prospettiva di migliorare l’efficace dei risultati e di accrescere la diffusione della propria rete. Obiettivi che potranno essere raggiunti anche orientando maggiormente l’azione formativa verso i Paesi o le aree più critiche e favorendo di più la partecipazione ai seminari di soggetti istituzionali (rappresentanti politici e sindacali, giornalisti, esperti, etc.) che possano riportare al di fuori della rete di EZA i lavori dei convegni e le proposte che ne scaturiscono.

Le GEPO est une coordination de Pastorales ouvrières nationales ou régionales. Son objectif est de mettre en contact des membres d’organisations ouvrières, porteurs de projets nationaux, pour qu’ils inscrivent leur action dans une culture et un cadre européens. Cette facette de la construction européenne se réalise dans une approche familière aux organisations ouvrières d’Europe : par la rencontre, la découverte de réalités nationales différentes et pourtant reliées, la confrontation des réponses données au sein de chaque pays. Le GEPO veut contribuer ainsi à un rapprochement des actions nationales et à l’élaboration de perspectives communes. Pour progresser dans ce sens, le GEPO est grandement soutenu par un organisme tel que l’EZA, plus large, qui est fondé sur les traditions de la Doctrine sociale et qui relie des organisations enracinées dans cette culture commune. Ce cadre plus large fournit au GEPO des moyens et une logistique, mais surtout un environnement qui facilite son extension et situe l’action de ces Pastorales dans le contexte de l’action politique pour une construction européenne en faveur des travailleurs de tous les pays concernés.

C’est pourquoi j’espère continuer que le GEPO pourra continuer à entretenir avec l’EZA un lien fécond, qui favorise cette action, dans un va-et-vient entre l’EZA et le GEPO. J’espère également que le cadre politique européen de l’EZA continuera à promouvoir le souci du bien commun et le respect des travailleurs, dans l’action lente, délicate et difficile, de la construction européenne, notamment par la promotion du dialogue social à laquelle nous souhaitons apporter notre modeste contribution. Bon anniversaire ! Que notre avenir commun soit riche de collaborations !

HIVA is een joint-venture tussen de christelijke arbeidersbeweging van België en de universiteit van Leuven. Wij doen onderzoek voor overheden of sociale organisaties rond thema's zoals arbeid en organisatie, arbeidsmarkt, onderwijs, welvaartstaat, migratie, middenveld en sociale economie, wonen, armoede, ontwikkelingssamenwerking, milieu en duurzame ontwikkeling. Vele van deze thema's hebben een Europese dimensie. Meer dan ooit dienen samen te werken met collega's van andere Europese landen. Meer dan ooit dienen we met dat onderzoek ook in dialoog te doen met het Europese beleid en het Europese middenveld. EZA biedt daarvoor een ideaal platform!

Credo che nell'attuale fase storica anche a noi è richiesto un suplemento d'intelligenza, per leggere sapientemente le diverse situazioni. Alla luce, pertanto, del lavoro siginificatico che l'EZA ha fatto nei suoi primi venticinque anni di vita, credo che sia ormai arrivato il momento di fare un salto di qualità, nel coordinare il lavoro di un "movimento" europeo di opinione che metta al centro della riflessione il lavoro, il suo futuro, la sua qualità, il suo senso e i suoi aspetti culturali. Il lavoro, cioè, inteso nelle sue dimensioni umana e spirituale. In questo modo, immagino il nostro lavoro comune come il lavoro di una rete che propone, stimola, coordina.

Christian movement in Romania is afected by crisis which is not only economic and political but also moral It is necessary to built new structures of trust in almost any field, identify what is good and take important decisions. I hope that with the help of our friends from Europe the civil society will find apropriate answers and the right way.

We dream of a world of justice and solidarity where young people everywhere have access to work that respects their dignity and worth as human beings. With the help of EZA, we have been able to help young workers realise their self-worth and their demands for a life without the insecurity and constant challenge of precarious working and living conditions. Through our seminars, we aim to empower young workers to realise their capacity to create a change. We thank EZA for the collaboration in our projects, and celebrate through our continued action and commitment to, for and with young workers in Europe, and throughout the world.

Zuerst möchte ich mich für die Zusammenarbeit mit EZA herzlichst bedanken. Ohne diese Zusammenarbeit und Hilfe wäre es für uns und für die Bewegung Christ und Arbeit (KAP) der Tschechischen Republik, mit welcher wir eng zusammenarbeiten, unmöglich, die Entwicklung unserer Gesellschaft nach der Wende von Kommunismus im Sinne der christlich-sozialen Prinzipen zu beeinflussen. Eine wichtige Rolle hatten dabei unsere mehrtägigen Seminare zur aktuellen sozialen Problematik, an denen auch Gäste aus benachbarten Ländern und Referenten aus EU-Ländern teilnahmen. Wir sind überzeugt, dass solche Seminare auch für die Zukunft notwendig sind, dass sie wichtige Schritte zum Sozialen Dialog auch auf der Europäischen Ebene bedeuten und damit zur Bildung der Europäischen Zivilgesellschaft beitragen können. Dazu wünschen wir EZA auch für die Zukunft viel Erfolg.

We appreciate the fact that we are able to rise important question in the area of flexicurity, work-life-balance and other labour market related issues on the European level because of the support from EZA.

25 Jahre lang stellt EZA ein wichtiges Netzwerk für den sozialen Dialog und für die soziale Frage auf europäischer Ebene dar. Entscheidend aber ist, dass EZA in Europa eine unverzichtbare Stimme und ein "Kümmerer" für die Fragen der sozialen Gerechtigkeit, des Verhältnisses von Arm und Reich, der Chancengleichheit auf dem Arbeitsmarkt sowie für Mitbestimmung und Partizipation auf der Basis christlich-sozialer Werte ist. Die sozialen Herausforderungen Europas bedürfen einer ständigen Beobachtung, Bearbeitung und Lösungsperspektiven. Für die bisher erfolgreich geleistete 25-jährige Arbeit von EZA sind wir sehr dankbar und gratulieren EZA zum 25. Geburtstag.

Dank zij de hulp van EZA zijn we er tot nu toe in geslaagd in onze sectoren de nodige netwerken uit te bouwen tussen de verschillende organisaties die vanuit eenzelfde inspiratie de arbeidsomstandigheden, arbeidsvoorwaarden en arbeidsverhoudingen willen verbeteren. Ik hoop dat we in de toekomst deze opdracht vanuit dezelfde inspiratie en met de hulp van EZA nog kunnen verbreden en verdiepen.

O EZA – Centro Europeu para os Assuntos dos Trabalhadores, como rede de organizações de trabalhadores que se baseiam em princípios e valores cristãos, tem defendido, através de seminários e outras actividades de formação, o desenvolvimento económico, social e cultural, a promoção da justiça e da solidariedade, baseados no diálogo social.

Assim, e considerando as graves consequências desta crise no mundo do trabalho e dos trabalhadores, consideramos que actualmente as prioridades de reflexão e acção devem ser no combate ao desemprego e à precariedade laboral. Duas realidades que tem provocado o aumento da pobreza, também em cidadãos integrados ainda nos mercados de trabalho.

A promoção e o incentivo à formação profissional e à formação contínua ao longo da vida devem ser permanentes numa organização como o EZA. Na sociedade chamada do conhecimento ninguém deve ficar excluído. Assim nesta procura diversificada de formação que corresponda ao conhecimento e aperfeiçoamento profissional, deve estar presente também o conhecimento científico e técnico do trabalho e o desenvolvimento humano e cultural de quem o executa. Que a busca de novos postos de trabalho ou de indústrias tenha em conta o desenvolvimento social do meio envolvente e o respeito pelos recursos naturais do planeta e do meio ambiente. Um desafio necessário e urgente é o envolvimento dos jovens e das respectivas estruturas de formação – escolas secundárias, profissionais, universidades - para que assumam esta vertente global de formação. Que preparem os jovens para a sua vida profissional, mas munidos de conhecimentos económicos, sociais, políticos e culturais. Com opinião e espírito crítico, participação e responsabilidade cívica.

Julgamos que o grande desafio para o EZA continuará a ser a promoção do diálogo social, o estudo dos desafios sociais e o apoio ao desenvolvimento económico e social centrado na pessoa humana, defendido pelos princípios cristãos do Ensino Social da Igreja. A defesa do trabalho digno e justamente remunerado para todos os cidadãos, respeitando as suas capacidades e diversidades, são um princípio básico para erradicar muita da pobreza na Europa, para fortalecer as sociedades democratas e concretizar uma melhor e mais justa distribuição das riquezas.

On behalf of the National Confederation of Workers’ Councils I’d like to congratulate with your 25th anniversary. Allow me to return the compliment and say to you on this occasion that it’s a pleasure and an honour for MOSZ to be part of EZA, and we hope to continue and strengthen this pleasant relationship in the future. I am happy that I can personally congratulate the founders and the staff of EZA on this jubilee. My wishes for our future are success in collaborating, luck, health, and the ability to successfully create and develop new ideas, experiences which will recall to us our mission to work for co-operation and solidarity.

Seit mehr als 20 Jahren gibt es eine ausgezeichnete Zusammenarbeit der österreichischen Christgewerkschafterinnen und Christgewerkschafter mit EZA, vor allem durch die Konferenz über die gewerkschaftliche Zusammenarbeit in Europa (KGZE). Arbeitnehmervertreterinnen und Arbeitnehmerverteter aus ganz Europa - aus Ost und West - nützen die KGZE als Plattform der Begegnung. Dabei wird der Mensch in den Mittelpunkt unserer Arbeit für ein gerechteres Europa gestellt. Basierend auf unserem gemeinsamen christlich-sozialen Wertefundament, soll das auch in Zukunft Schwerpunkt der EZA-Bildungsarbeit sein. Wir wünschen EZA auch für die nächsten 25 Jahre alles Gute.

Workers' Association of NSi was established in February 2005. We started cooperating with EZA shortly after our establishment and till now we organized 9 seminars, where we also cooperated with different European workers' organizations. Since October 2009 Workers' Association of NSi is full member of EZA. The best thing of being full member of EZA is, you can always get support for your work. So till now we have very good experiences cooperating with EZA and we wish that such good cooperation will continue also in future. It is hard to find a right solution sometimes and in that case you can always call to EZA centre, where you will get an appropriate information.

In den 25 Jahren seines Bestehens ist EZA stets seinem Ziel und Zweck, nämlich der Arbeitnehmerbildung auf christlich-sozialer Basis, treu geblieben. EZA blieb dabei immer nahe am Zeitgeschehen und konnte somit seinen Beitrag zur europäischen Integration leisten. Ich wünsche mir, dass EZA auch in Zukunft seine Arbeit konsequent weiterführt und ausbaut, vor allem im Hinblick auf das Soziale Europa, damit alle christlich-sozialen Arbeitnehmerorganisationen in Europa auch in den kommenden Jahren gemeinsam Stolz auf die vollbrachte Arbeit blicken und feststellen können, dass ein MEHR an sozialem Europa erreicht wurde.
